CLYMER Or HAYNES Repair Manual for '96 Warrior - Thoughts/Opinions???
#1
I managed to find the Yamaha Service Manual for my '96 Warrior on the internet, so I printed it out for reference during repair jobs. However, to put it bluntly, the directions SUCK!!!
I'd like to buy either a Clymer or Haynes Repair Manual, IF the directions are more detailed than the OEM (Yamaha) Service Manual...
Do any of you guys have the Clymer OR Haynes Repair Manual for your Warrior?...
If so, what is your opinion? How well do they explain things, compared to the Yamaha Service Manual? Do they contain detailed pictures with step by step instructions? Which one should I get (Clymer or Haynes)?
In terms of level of detail - my Yamaha Service Manual might say:
"Step 3 - Remove rear tire."....
The Haynes Repair Manual I used to have for my Blaster would say something like:
"Step 3 - Remove rear tire by:
a) Removing cotter pin;
b) Loosen the four lug nuts with a 1/2 inch ratchet;
c) Turn the main axle bolt counter-clockwise with a 3/4" ratchet until it loosens;
d) Lift the machine off the ground and remove the four lug nuts and also the main axle bolt;
e) etc. etc. etc"...
I also remember the Haynes Manual having very detailed pictures, and the step by step directions were VERY easy to follow.
Can any of you guys give me your opinion, if you own either of these repair manuals for your Warrior?
Thanks in advance!
Cheers,
Mike

Speedy,
Any chance you could email me a copy of your .pdf Clymer Warrior Manual?
My email address is:
mikeb827 @ gmail . com (without the spaces, of course)...
If you could email it to me, that would make my day (literally!). And I'll return the favor by sending you some aftermarket decals I have, if you can PM me with your mailing address....
Thanks and have a great day!
Cheers,
Mike

I have all three manuals, Haynes, Clymer, and Service Manual. I ordered the Clymer when I relized I needed to replace the engine in my warrior and while I was waiting for it to come in I found the service manual online. After I replaced the motor, my father-in-law, who I bought the bike from, gave me his Haynes manual. I found that the Clymer has the best instructions, descriptions, and pictures but that the service manual has technical information that the others don't. I keep the Haynes in my truck for a quick reference, incase I have problems with it away from home. It's a little smaller than the other manuals.

Im looking to get a repair manual for my 01 ninja 500 and dont know which one to get. Ive heard of Haynes but not of Clymer. I dont know anything about bikes so I figured one of these books would be able to help me better understand my bike. Possibly be able to do some work by myself. Really want to know as much and do as much myself as possible. I dont just want to be an owner......
