My exhaust ratles real bad inside...like there's a nut bouncing around. I was wondering if it would hurt the valves or engine if I gutted it?......After riding it a while it goes away.....dunno.

 

i had the same thing happen on my Foreman, a couple of the baffles shattered (just like glass0 and were ratttling around insisde the muffler. I cut the end off the muffler, emptied the contents (some of the baffles were fine and were still in place) welded the end back on and its been fine ever since. Since some of the baffles are still there its not overly loud, about the same as an average aftermarket muffler.

If you gut the muffler, I dont think you'll harm the motor, but with no baffles it will be way too loud.
