I want to put some agressive mud/hillclimbing tires on my 400EX. I was looking at the ITP Spidertracs but the smallest width they come in is 12.5 and the rim is only a 9. Will this bow the bead too much or will it work? Also will puttin 22 inch tall tires on it upset the handling? Any suggestions on tires other than the Spidertracs?

Try the Realter. I got them in January. They are great. Do a search and you'll see others like them too. The 22" is no big deal with a 14 tooth front sprocket.

I have the 22" Swamper TSL's on mine, plenty of straight traction but suck for corners, no side bite. I had a set of Realtors before, on my 350X, and thought that they were a real good tire. I also like the looks of the Bearclaws, look like they would be a pretty decent mud tire and still have some sidebite for the corners. Good luck, hope you get the tire that is right for you.

I have a set of Bearclaws for mine and really like them, very aggressive. They do give a bit of a rough ride on hardpack though and they make the back end skip around at high speeds.

I really like the SpiderTracs!! The narrowest tire they offer is 12.5!!! Will a 12.5 fit on the stock 9 inch rear rim? Will the bead seal correctly? Thanks in advance!!

I am also thinking about getting some Spider Tracs for my 300EX. Would they wear down fast though? Where I do alot of my riding, you have to go up this big gravel road up a mountain. THen once you hit the trails, it can be really muddy or rocky or even just big hills.

My friend has a set of the Spider Tracs on his Warrior and he likes them. They also seem to be wearing real well.

Yes you can put spider tracs on your 400. If you have the April issue of Dirt Wheels there is an ITP advertisement that has a picture of a 400ex with spider tracs(on stock rims).
