Motor change ??

Yes i currently have a 1993 trail boss 350L and 94 400L trail boss,currently just purchase a new cyclinder for the 350 and foudn that piston was gone,so decided to change motors,my 400L runs good but no 4wd somone who had it before me messed the wiring up,so only thing is that my 400 has 8 wires commign from the motor and 350 has 6,but 6 from the 400 look exactly the same wondering can i just cut and macth them up?? i probly will try it anywyas but just lookign for somone with more exsperince to help me out,also if it works should i use the 400L clutches or does it matter? but thx if anyone has information

Only problem is that the person who owned it first has all the wiring messed up,because i gues the voltage regalator went on the bike,and he put a totaly different one and messed all the wiring up,basiclly ruin the bike i think

Well you may be able to use the 350 stator. on the 400. or find some scrambler ignition. because scramblers never had the bigger lighting coil, digital ignition with crank trigger.
Or use the cdi and everything from the 400.
the question is where do the extra two wires go. Is the voltage regulator different. check the online parts fiche and go from there. Do you have a wiring schematic? hmm all check my book and see what I think
