i believe a gear in the front diffrential needs to be cut. hilifter recommends that a professional install the kit because of this.

I think you can handle most of the install except for the cutting part. Take that to a machine shop and they will take care of it for you.

Here they are $355! Holy crap High Lifter ATV Products & Accessories - High Lifter's Detroit Gearless Locker 4 07-09 Rancher.

But people pay that much for aftermarket tires also. No one said ATVing was a cheap sport I quess.

Big D 07 how was the handeling in 4 wheel drive, could you notice that you put a locker in when you turned, I really just want to know how the atv reacted with locker compared to without locker in 2 and 4 wheel drive. Also was there any machine work that you had to do to the front diff or could you just put it right in.

there is some maching that has to be done you have to cut 170 thousands off of the cap on the diff. When you have the atv in 4 wheel drive at low speeds it is a little hard to turn not to bad to me if you have a little speed then it's not to bad. I will say i climbed some rocks where i've had trouble in the past and now it was a cake walk. Like i said besides my tires and rims it's the best money i have spent on my atv.
