i believe there are electrical tests in the oem manual for the machine that can be conducted to pinpoint the issue. do you have a manual?

I am having the same problem. I have a Manual and I have run through everything I can think of, I have checked the oil sensor and wiring. I was going to order the starting coil this week. Mine does not spark either. I got it to spark last weekend but when it died I have not had a spark since. Have you come up with anything since your last post?

Check the resistance across the stator and check the resistance across the pick up coil. I don't know right off what it should read, but you can find it in a repair manual. If that's not the problem, and you've already tried an ignition coil, then it could possibly be the CDI.

Default Spark

I believe the Manual states a resistance of a maximum of 10 ohms accross the starting coil. I am picking up 13. I was going to order a new coil this week but then read the earlier post from the gentleman that installed a new one and still has no spark. I did the light meter test on the controller before the coil and got a light so I am getting power up to that point.

Hi folks, I'm in the same predicament, no spark. Fuel pump, fuel cutoff relay and 3 CDI units have been tried, no spark. I did the measurements and found a resistance of 1634 ohms across the exciter coil and ground. According to the chart shown in this thread, it should be 50-200 ohms. Also, I could not check the ignition switch as there is no blue/white wire on the CDI terminals. However, when the switch is on, the green neutral light comes on, the oil light sometimes is on, but not all times. I can't hear the fuel pump coming on when I turn the ignition, but when wired directly, the fuel pump works and it looks new. any suggestions?

I have the same issue. Changed out the fuel pump, fuel cut relay, sparkplug, fuel filter. Will only start then the sun is out of it's warm out. When you shut it off, no guarantee it will start again.
