I never heard of the UniFilter until I started reading this forum. I've used K & N in dirt track race cars and always thought they were the best. Went to the Uni site and they claim to have the best. Uni says that if you put a bit of grease in the airhorn it will pick up dirt as proof that the K & N isn't so great. Has anyone tried this?

What is the stock filter? Uni says they make OEM filters for Honda. Is the stocker a Uni?

K&N makes more power for racing. Uni is better protection. I have noticed trace dust film in the hose but nothing that would ruin a motor. K&N's are good for sand and climates with out silt and fine particles. The outerwear helps a lot too. Most people don't re-oil new K&N's before use. K&N says "For off road or agricultural use reapply oil before use". I run one because I hate cleaning and oiling the foam filters.

Each manufacturer is going to claim their product is the best. I've run K&N's with Outerwears in all kinds of condidtions from sand to silt without any problems. I do have 2 filters for each of my rides and when one gets dirty, I just change it, clean the dirty one and get it oiled and ready to go back in. I won't say anything bad about Uni, I've just had very good luck/performance with K&N as have most of the people I ride with.
