so i tore apart my 400ex today to see why it wouldnt shift into 5th gear...tranny looked all good except when i pulled it out of the left side crankcase...the countershaft bearing just fell out along with pulling the tranny out...exposing basically carnage...i'm not sure if the bearing is spun or what, but the second gear on the countershaft is the hear that rides next to that bearing and it marred the heck outta the inside of the case around that bearing area...does anyone think this could have been why my transmission wasnt shifting into 5th?...5th rides on the counter shaft right next to 2nd...but all the parts on the shaft look fine aside from a few really small knicks on the 2nd gear right where it rides next to that countershaft bearing...im replacing the case regardless...im just hoping my tranny problem is fixed....you can see what it did to my case...thanks in advance
