Default Which HID kit?

Hiya Folks,
Am toying with the idea of converting my 850XP's lights to HID. I see a number of kits on Ebay and am wondering if anyone has any experience with a particular seller/product they'd like to recommend? I think I want one that ties directly to the battery and utilizes a relay just to avoid the heat generated through the factory wiring to power the kit but not sure. Any advice is most appreciated.
Cheers,
cc

I do not have a kit. But I believe this is the kit most people went with.

I just put the HIDs on my 700X2. Wow what a difference. I was in hunting camp last week and put the new lights to the test; heading out an hour before daylight and back to camp way after dark. The HIDs easily gave me twice the lighting than the stock polaris lights did. I even got to see a small black bear running up the trail in front of me one morning. The little guy was probably 50 yds away just a smoking down the trail. The HID's rank right at the top of my assessories list.

Yes that is the kit several of us have used with no problems with the stock wiring...it is plug and play for all 3 lights...matter of fact that is Rutcutter's old machine in that pic....

Once you go HID's everything else just plain sucks. I swear riding with stock lights at night just isn't any fun after riding with HIDs!

Here's my XP with the exact same kit....

It looks like we all went with the same guy on eBay. I think that I originally got the link from octane (thanks again).

Service was excellent and they work like a charm. The photos above really don't do them justice. If you do any night riding they should be your first upgrade.

All of my riding buddies make me ride point at night in the wilderness because of the lights. On one ride one of the guys had his light completely crap out and I rode in wingman position (just behind and to his right) for a few miles and he thought it was way better than with his. I also notice that I can safely ride a lot faster than the others because of the light output!

I did the 3 way mod with the diode option, but it was problematic and failed on me several times while riding (even after soldering the diode in place) and have now switched to the relay mod listed in one of the threads here.

Have fun!

Can anyone provided a picture of where they mounted the ballast boxes? I'm pretty sure as soon as I can scrape up the $100 for new headlight pods (don't ask) I'm going for the HID kit for all three lights. I'm most interested in seeing how they're mounted and how to keep them water tight as I traverse a LOT of gross mud and muck.

Thanks! Erik
