Default 2005 artic cat 400 4x4 ?

just bought a 2005 400 4x4 a month or so ago...after running for a bit motor gets hot .. the oil fan does not come on.. were do i need to look for the switch? it die on me the other day . i didnot hear the fan come on. after i got home it started back up.. what would cause this? thanks brian

Temp switch should be located near the oil filter on the front of the engine. But the fan could be not working too so check both.

id check the fan fuse first. if you havent already.

i found a online serivce factory manual . and check the fuse. the fan, i hot wire and it work.i bought a oil temp gauge today and going to put it inline in one of the oil line hose . i post some pic of it.. i have found out after buying this artic cat that . it is really hard to find any help with the artic cat seen like they buy the other brand's of 4-wheeler. . .

There are accessories out there for the AC 400. For things like bearings, shocks, brakes, you can look for them for the AC 500 and they will fit the 400.

If the fan works then you could test the fan switch with the test procedure in the manual. I think it costs about $30 or so to replace.

Also the fan on my 400 rarely comes on unless I am creeping along in low range or towing a heavy load. The stalling could be a totally different issue like an electrical short from something getting hot like the coil or CDI.
