Question Dirt in gas tank.

Ok so I just looked in my gas tank and I see dirt at the bottom of the tank. It doesn't looking like a a lot but its still there. Should I drain the tank out and if so how? or will the fuel filter catch this dirt??

Thanks

If you have the plastic off already, then dump it out. Heck, I'd dump it out if I didn't. My luck isn't the greatest and I'd hate to think where I'd be at if the dirt decided to clog the carb or worse, get inside the motor. I'd still put a in line plastic fuel filter too.

Just DON'T try and vacuum it out! That's a good way to start a fire!

And yes people HAVE tried it!

I already have the inline filter in it. I have the plastics back on as I never take them right off cause I have a hell of a time taking the front bumper and winch off. So taking the tank right off the bike is the only option??

You know, sometimes a video camera should be a mandatory thing.

Can I take the lines of the tank and run water through it and then let it dry and re-connect all my lines?

Try to use a siphon to suck the dirt out with the "bad" gas.

Ok so tonight I took the gas out of the tank and took the two lines off the bottom of the tank (which both have built in filters) and ran water thought the tank for about an hour on a off, I took the air hose to it and now letting it dry on its own. In the morn I replace the gas filter and check to see of the tank is dry of water and if it is then Ill put it all back together.
