Are you happy with what you bought? (Power/size)
#1
Just sending out a question. With all the up-grades out there and different power/sizes, Are you happy with your ride the way it came from the dealer?
People spend good hard earned money on there toys and should be happy before they buy , but as we know it's not always that way. People and riders want more power,bigger.......Just seeing who out there is not happy with the large purchase after they get it home from the dealer.
...Caper.......

I just came from a 5 day fishing trip. It requires use to load the ATV racks heavy while towing a loaded atv trailer, down a 9 miles trail that our 4wd trucks can not do because there to wide and one hill is to steep and thin.
I ride with 12 ATVs of all kinds but the big ones are a 660 Grizzly and a 800 Outlander, and I follow them everywhere when I,m in low the ATV does not even seem to work hard, even after we unload and just trail ride there is no place for even the small 300 ATVs to ever open up.
We even rode some gravel roads and no one could feel safe obove 50 mph. I dont think I would get these large motored ATVs they did use much more gas even when driven slow. If anything I mise how my old 350 big bear could do a two point turn to turn around on a small path istead of the 5 point turns I do now.LOL
My next ATV I think my be a 420 Rancher,450 grizzly or Polaris 400(455) H.O. to get the chassis size down yet still have a decent size motor.
I quess I would say I,m happy with the power but not the physical size of the ATV.

I just upgraded from a suzuki 300 king quad which I bought new in 01 to a 09 yamaha 450 grizzly. Only have about 140 miles on it, but so far I'm real happy with it. I shy away from the big machines, just don't need all the power and I like the size and weight of the smaller ones. I must admit that the new big bores did temp me. Awfully tempting indeed.

My 500cc and 700cc are good enough for me. Very powerfull in low range. When adding any power items to an atv I think you just cut its reliablilty down. Go bigger cc before adding power mods to a smaller atv. just my 2 cents.

When the dealer adds up-graded wheels/and tires to the quad before it leaves the showroom,(brand new).....Do they tell you axles and C.V. joints are no longer under any warrenty?
I can't see them covering any damage if the Quad is not stock(the way it came)
Do they cover this work if sold up-graded from new?
Anybody had to fight with them ....Caper.............

If I could find a place where I could safely ATV at 50+ mph I think I would ask myself why did I not just bring my truck or car.LOL

yeah it seems like alot of people just go barrling down gravel roads or dirt roads going near as fast as it will go....for me putting 10-20 miles on a day ends up being quite a bit.....

Ya know I do like my 500 popo, however I am an addrenalin junkie but have cooled my jets since I've had my kids realizing there's more to this life than just me me me. Getting back to atv's I kinda wish I would've bought the 800, b/c I can't wheely unless I stand on rear rack, And I don't like losing a friendly race between a friends. I'm a competetive spirit I guess, I prchased the 500 cuz of price diff. and a 500 can do whatever you need to do and at the time thought bigger was just an ego fix, I go from riding GSXR750's and GSXR 600's so fast that I should probably be worm food by now to a 500cc low geared utility atv. You can't get the same "fix" from the two, it's like comparing apples to oranges.
Sorry this has gotten so long, I got carrried away. But one more thing, You still have to respect these powerful beasts, As I learned this summer thanks to doe running out in from of me and cost me 2500.00 in damage but thankfully and more importantly just a few scratches and a sore knee from bailing b4 hitting tree w/ my #1 toy! Once again I apologize for the length of this reply and I do have a little buyer's remorse for not buying the 800. I hope people learn from mine and others to do ur research and talk to people who ride and get thier 2cents, don't trust the dealer's as they'll want to sell bigger, and ride some. The dealer's in my parts don't really have test ride area's except maybe a paved parking lot and how do you really asses an atv's capabilities on pavement?? Whoa, you guys r thinking blah, blah, blah. SORRY once again!!

I'm still shopping around for my new ride, and have come to realize after test riding different size's that 500cc give or take is just fine by me. and a little cheaper. I also am tempted to go bigger but then I ask myself when and where am I actually going to need that much power? I have decided to go with the 550 xp over the 850 xp. There definitly a big jump in power but it would only be bragging rights for me. To each his own. (Am I getting old?) My wife says I'm only 5yrs. old 6 on a good day. LOL.
