Default Someone with an 03-06 400 please read this

My brother drown his 2004 AC 400 and I am fixing it up for him. He's pretty tight, so doesn't want to spend more than he has to. I cleaned the carb out, and I plan to change the engine oil and the 2 diff oils. Obviously just buy an oil change kit for the engine, but how many quarts are needed for the front and rear differentials together? Is a single quart enough? Also what spec do I need for the differential oils? Any other information on the situation is great since he lost his manual. Thanks.

Anytime glad I could help.

Now if any of you know what my 06 AC 250 utility is doing. It runs fine in low and reverse. However when I put it in Hi and give the gas it takes of normal and then starts surging or clunking. Not all the time just some of the time.

Any thoughts? I have cleaned the carb, air filter.

Thanks

oil change takes 4 quarts of oil and a filter. You should have just less than 1/4 quart left. Make sure to check oil level without screwing inthe dip stick.

Front/Rear diff oul change I use hypoid gear oil designed for marine use. Which means is is designed to function with some water mixed into it. One quart is plenty but you need a long narrow funnel to get it into where it belongs. I like to ket the differentials drain over night and you get about 1 cup out of each diff.

I also prefer to change the oil with the skid plates removed and the diff oil with the skid plate AND stick guards removed.

PlayGolf777 sounds like your 250 has either a fuel issue OR a slipping clutch.
