Hey guys, I'm back. I sold the old 700. I hated to do it but I was in a tight spot. Well now my fourtune has taken a turn for the better and I just bought a 09 500 x2 today. other than the dealer forgetting to put on one of the plastic boot guards, I am thrilled. The efi is great and the loss of the 200cc's from my 700 is barely noticable. My lady (just got engaged) loves it also because she has a seat of her own. (SHe actually pushed me to buy this bike. And she loves football and hunting. SCORE!!) Well hope to hear from my old friends and new ones as well. Any tips tricks or cool mod ideas are appreciated.

Btw, its sage green, has adc and polaris should put turf mode in everything. I also purchased a 5 yr extended warranty on it. My dealer is a mud racer so he will cover anything as long as you don't pop axles every 2 weeks. I am stoked. Can't wait to get her broke in so I can ride any way I want to.

 

Congratulations on the X2. Love mine. You may want to get a small pad to put on the seat for longer rides. I know they went to a slightly softer seat after the first year or so, but every little bit helps.

has anyone here put a x2 in some sticky mud? does the longer wheelbase help or hurt? I heard from a couple of people that 26" tires are about as big as i should go with for some reason. Does anyone know what that is?

 

I have a 09 X2 also, even the same color. I put 800 coil springs in the front of mine, raised it up about a inch, and put 26 in mudlite XTR's on. I had some wiring problems which I fixed myself, look at the top of the rad and make sure there are no wires rubbing on the top edge of it (take the panel in the tool box off), also had the pod headlight wires break off, nothing I could do there except resolder them, other than that a great reliable machine. Havent got to use them tires in a mudhole yet, hope to this weekend! have fun!

 

I've been in the mud with it and it does very well as long as you can either get across firm mud or get to the bottom where it is hard. The in between stuff nearly got me stuck one time. Other than that it's been good in the mud. I was told 26" by the mechanics at the dealership. I think the issue is clutching and engine size.

 

My wife and I love our 700 x2. I did put a 2 inch lift on because it is longer and was getting high centered alot. One thing I can tell you is, get a winch, when an x2 gets stuck its stuck and If your alone your not going to be able to move it yourself. Only MY 2Cents
