2006 was the last year model any atv sold in the US could be a 2 stroke.

Not sure, but if they sold it in California as anyting newer than 06, they're not gonna be able to get a sticker for it.

Only thing I could figure is they are saying it's an old stock 06 and not a new 07.

We're so deep in China's pocket now, no telling what they can get away with. But that's a whole 'nother topic there.

When Hetrick was going to build a 50/70/90 the 2 stroke issue basically made it a no-go.
Cobra is selling away everyday..
What about DRR, Apex, and the other imports? They are selling 2 strokes also aren't they?

Not sure about those. Does Cobra lists theirs for track use only? That may be their way around it.

Still, doesn't seem fair to the others.

Did a little digging, and Cobra is selling their as "production class legal".

Saw one dealer that has the disclaimer that they are not for recreational use.

I agree, unfair.
I'd bet that Cobra's are listed as race only.

Production class legal. That means that there are 100 or 150 of a model available throuout the US. Per AMA racing rules. Not really a 2 stroke thing.

Yeah, read more on that after I posted.

I do see some of the dealers saying race only. Did they change the frames on the LT models when they went to 4 stroke? Seems like if they didn't, they'd have the same opportunity as Cobra and the others. Then again, the money for the big 3 isn't in the small class atv racing I guess.
