Default 2009 850 xp needs 2 new rear axles already!!!

I have a 2009 Polaris 850 XP, there was some grinding noise coming from the rear of the bike, I took it to my dealer and they told me I needed 2 new rear axles...WTF? The bike is 5 months old with 700kms on it, all back country easy riding...

I took it into the shop with 2 days remaining on my warranty!

Has anyone else had this problem???

Clicking axles have been an issue, many have been replaced for clicking noises....apprently they were improperly machined from the vendor..
I've heard that Polaris consideres it an "annoyance" issue and says it will not lead to premature failure but will replace them if the customer complains.
Clicking and grinding are 2 different things...haven't heard of any grinding axle problems...

There may be a service bulletin stating to replace them if an owner complains about the noise, but no actual recall for the axles...

I feel your pain, my machine is in the shop now for the very same problem, plus a control switch and ball joints! I only have 310 miles on the clock and they were fairly easy miles too.

Other than that, the machine has been great to me.
