Default Chinese Ball Joints???? and How the hell to get them out

i have a 05 polaris sportsman 500 ho and i also need ball joints.Should i call polaris? Cause ive heard of people getting lots of miles out of these. I have also read some other forum about them being chinese. I have 1500 miles on them.I also need front wheel bearings. Also how do you get the ball joints out of the alumnium knuckel? Thanks, Polaris man with Issues

First remove the two allen bolts holding the retaining plate. Next heat the strut with a propane torch. Not too hot just warm it up. Grab the stud with some vice grips and tap the vice grips with a hammer. This is how I removed mine...

that's how i did mine too. while you're busy heating and tapping, put the new ball joints in the freezer until you are ready for them ,they do go in a lil easier. also make sure the new joints have a hole on top or on the side to let grease pass thru.

Wouldn't hurt to have a copy of the service manual for your year and model quad. As deep as your going you might as well pull some maintenance.

I also take out the grease zerk on the strut. It can create a vacuum while removing and air pressure when installing the new one.
