Default Engine Heater?

When it hit -10 the other night, I thought to myself "I wonder if I should be thinking about an engine heater for the ATV". Is this something that's available/recommended?
Cheers,

It could never hurt to pre warm the motor before starting it.
I have thought about a 100w light bulb to keep it warm at night.

Yeah I wasn't so much worried about it starting up as much as just trying to limit the cold weather start up damage that could occur. My machine sits outside (at least through this winter) so putting a light bulb under it probably wouldn't do much for it. I just wasn't sure if there was a standard engine heater out there....

I do think polaris used to make a plug in heater for the sportsman models. Might be worth checking with a dealer.
The light bulb might work if you pull the side panel and put it as close to the motor as possible. Any one that has ever used a drop light with a metal shield knows that they will burn the $hit out of you if you touch it so they do throw some heat.

I'm pretty sure polaris makes one, just google around, or talk to your dealer

There are a huge variety of heaters out there...magnetic, glue on, pad, block, pan. I know polaris makes them for sleds, so surely they must make them atv specific, one would think anyway. If not, find one that'll work...there are many styles out there to choose from.

Thanks folks. A search of Pure Polaris yielded nothing and an email from them just said to call the dealer....pretty much worthless if you ask me. Looks like I'm off to find 3rd party solutions.
