2006 honda foreman 500es 4x4 exhaust tip
#1
If anyone can help i'd be thankful.
Pros and Cons of exhaust tips.
Do I need to jet carb if I get a new tip?
Do a screen in one of this tips count as a spark arrestor?

Word is that this engine does not respond to mods very well (????).
Think about it. If you open up the tip and don't need a rejet, what in the world would you accomplish, except to just make it louder???? If it has a screen, then that is the spark arrestor. No sense starting any forest fires!
Best thing is to just get an aftermarket exhaust system...and a rejet.

Thanks, Was hoping to help it breath alittle.
And would little a more of a growl sound.
I could get a tip for about $25.00
I have being looking into a rejet kit, if I do that then I'll need a k&n fitler and good exhaust system right?

The tip might give a little benefit. Though I haven't used one, I've heard a tip and programmer (efi rejet) makes a big difference without being obnoxiously loud.
Apparenlty the tip is a choke point in the exhaust for US market. The Foreman may be similar, but you might have to go to a foreman owner's forum to find people who've acutally tried it.
Even if it has a screen, I think it has to be USFS approved in order to operate in the forest.
A jet kit will help somewhat without any other mod, as these things are set to run lean to meet emission standards.
Personally I would not use a K&N or other gauze type filter on a machine used in the dirt and dust.
