A friend has a 98 Scrambler 500 4x4 and wants a little low end boost. Would he see any improvement with a stiffer clutch spring?
BTW I put on in my 00 boss and am learning to wheelie. What a blast!!

Thanks

Just curious; what spring did you use on your T Boss? Do you like the results? Did it make it any harder to handle at slow speeds over obstacles (rocks etc) ? I have been thinking about doing that to my Trail Boss.

You but a white spring in the primary and didn't change the weights? That's it? And it really made a difference. If that's all you did, I've got to try that for my sons 325 Trailboss.

I dont know what effect it will have on a 325 but me and a friend changed only the front spring from the stock blue to the white and for 28$Canadian its alot of difference for the buck see how you like it.

You changed the white spring on the 325 or the 500?

BK,
I put the green spring on my 00 boss and can really feel the extra low end power. i can sit at the back of the seat, mash the throttle and the front wheels come up with very little pulling on my part. It gets up to speed faster. Before i changed springs, it was almost impossible to get the front wheels up. Engagement is now higher, but it only took an afternoon of riding to get used to it. I'm still a bit shy at some of the creek crossings (i stood it up the day i got it coming out of a creek) but over all am very pleased with the change.
MustGoFaster,
Changed to a green spring, that's all. Guess i should say that i'm 6'2" and about 240, just in case you needed to know to compare me to your son.

Thanks for the help with the scrambler, its really to cheap a mod not to try it!

Question for ya txtrailboss, Do you think it'll be to much for a 12 year old weighing in at 85lbs? I don't want the bike to come back on him. We do alot of trail riding up and down alot of large hills. I don't want it to gain power to fast and flip on him. What's your opinion?

I've read a lot of posts saying the white spring gives good low to mid-range power boost without the high rpm engagement. I'd say give Rick a call at Ritter Cycle and start with the white one for that size a rider.
