Default Polaris oil changed?

Seems like all the oil kits I've ever bought from Polaris the oil has been a blue looking color,I bought 2 kits last week and the oil is tan, what's the difference? The parts guy said it's the same oil

chances are you have got the 2-50w oil which is that color vs the older polaris oil 0-40w oil which is blue. either one will be fine. imo

Next time save $ and buy mobil 10W - 40W and a NAPA filter 1358 or wix 51358. Same quality of oil and a BETTER quality filter.

I've used Mobile 1 0w 40 before as well as the Napa gold filters in the Polaris,I had a credit on some items so picked up some oil while at the dealer,I was just curious about the color change.I avoid my local Napa stores my last 1358 filter was $8.99 and $12.99 qt for the Mobile 1,small town,no jobs, crazy prices!! I try to get the Mobile from Walmart

The first time I had changed my oil I freaked seeing that color. Thought for sure something was wrong. It only about ten hours on it but I always felt apprehensive about seeing that color.

The NAPA filters are made by WIX and are a superior filter to the Tiawan made Polaris oil filter.

you guys that have the newer models, if you read in the owners manual "i think" it tells you that is is now 2-50w oil instead of the 0-40 that we use to use in the bikles. my guess is the 2-50 is for better heat disbursing. that is just a guess though.

My polaris dealer sells the kit for $25 Canadian its hard to beat that even with aftermarket stuff at Wall Mart.
