picked this up used. 2006 LT80 Suzuki. Hard time starting. It starts but will not stay running. Not it turns over but will not start. Any ideas. Just thought we could try something before taking it to a shop.

Please help. I am very disappointed. We bought this for a Chirstmas present. Now I have an unhappy lil boy.

It either missing fuel, air or spark. Do some basic diagnosis along those lines....first this is a 2 stroke....and used.....so I would check compression.

Spark will be easiest. Pull the plug and ground it out....hit the starter, do you see a spark. Is it nice and bright or weak?

If that checks out good then Id move on to fuel.....if your not getting any start working backwards......carb, petcock, lines, etc

Air should be easy to check.....if the fillters not plugged up your usually good to go.

 

Clean the carb. That's where I'd start. Sounds like there is yuck in there.
If it starts, It prolly has spark.
