hey guys i have a 98 sportsman 400 and i need to know how to fix my pull cord? when i go to pull start it, my cord will not wine back up so i pulled the cover off and when i got down to well the wined up spring was it pop out iam sure this is no good. also if anone who can give me more info or can give me some kind of site to download a manual.

mine did that when i bought mine. electric starter did not work ether. o took off the recoil cover off took off the bolt you will see inside cleaned all old grease off then put the bolt back in worked then. if you loosen that bolt and the rope don't recoil back on the reel then it's a good chance the recoil spring is broken.

 

sounds like mayb one of the ends on the spring is broke.
