I was looking at a Dirt wheels Mag the other day, and They asked a bunch of pro riders what they will be riding next year. Most said a Custom 250r. My question is why would they choose a bike thats over 10 years old? Are they that much better than the 400ex? If so how come.

250r's were discontinued in 89.Aftermarket companies have kept on refining them and making them better.Actually they are kinda still in production, you just have to build your own.

yeah the 250r's might be 15-11, but weith everything out there, there is hardly anything that they don't make aftermarket and like the post said you could techniqely make a 2001 250r if you wanted to. the 2 stroke power is also why the pros choose them, very reliable, and very very, lots of accel.

my LT250r will beat a 400EX no problem. thats why most racers use 250's instead of fourstrokes.

Here it is, the 400EX and Raptor rules the trails, the 250R rule MX and the Banshee rules the dunes.
