Default 700 EFI running like a dog

My brother in law brought me his 700 and it just flat out does not run right. He is a farm boy, so you know it has not been taken care of. I started out by tuning it up, draining the gas, new filters and it still lopes, dies at idle, smells and uses a ton of gas...I have ran seafoam through it and still no change in how it is running. He has 3500 hours on this thing so it has been used daily...first problem we have ever had with it.

Any ideas on what else we can check

If have Champion plugs in,throw em away, replace with BKR7E plugs, check for cracks on intake manifold,BAD about cracking at the clamp on carb and efi models. Check for tps and map sensor wires going into harness that could be that could be rubbing and shorting out.Plus clean out the throttle body. Hope this gets you started. LOT of hrs if hasnt been maintained.

i take care of the thing...grease...tune ups, fluid changes...he just flat out beats on this thing..
I will check the manifold as you said...it does seem like the system is flooding itself out because of more air from somewhere. Thanks OPT

Check your T-Bap wiring harness. Pull on the wires and make sure they are still secured to the connector. You can also check the ECU codes by cycling the key switch 3 times. If you have no codes the MIL will flash 51 and say end

Use carb cleaner to spray around intake boot, if it smooths out you will know its the boot.
