Default Terracross R/T tires

Anyone using these tires? If so, how are they in mud, snow, hardpacked trailes? Do they run true to size or larger or smaller?

I ride with a guy who has TC R/T's, and have ridden his quad a bit. The TC's are fine in snow, excellent on hard packed trails, and not so good in mud. They seem to run true to size. They are an expensive tire. I think the Bighorns are a better buy with similar performance.

They are very nice tires. The new XD has a much longer tread life. Very expensive tire yes. I feel they will do better in mud vs the Bighorns (which I owned on my last SP)since they have more of a aggressive track on the sides. On hard pack dirt and black top they are smooth. Have been happy with them on the snow so far. The run much more true to size then the Bighorns (they run one size larger).

I have them and I am impressed. I replaced my stock PXT radials with the ITP Terracross. Excellent in hardpack, rocks and sand and good in mud. Smooth as glass ride. A little better in the mud than the PXT and much better in the rocks, sand and handling. Best all around tire on the market. I would certainly buy them again. Remember you get what you pay for. I have 25" tires and they measure 25". They are reported to wear like iron and last forever because they are design to be tough enough for the Razor..

Speedcat also has these tires and he speaks highly of them.

AFAIK, they are similar to the bighorn, but run smaller and don't last as long. Bighorns are usually a better price also.

I would look at bighorns or Pitbulls myself. I have not had very good experience with ITP, and I'm not the only one.

Roofer the XD's are a newer updated version of the old X/T's that have a stronger sidewall & longer lasting tread pattern. I did many hour of searching before pulling the trigger on mine.

Thanks Weedy! I do love the looks of the wheels. Makes the quad look like a totally different machine.

Thor - you said you didnt like you Bighorns in the mud... Why is that, I am a little worried about them "plugging up" with mud

Bighorns are known not to be a mud tire. They are a great "all around" trail, sand, snow and rock tire.

I like the Bighorns over the T/C mainly for the fact that the B/H have a much better sidewall protection in the Rocks over the T/C that I have found. Other than that they have a very similar grip for a all terrain tire.
