1996 trx200d questions

Default 1996 trx200d questions

i just bought this thing it runs/ idles real good, im hoping someone on here might have one to answer a couple questions, wheres reverse??, thought down 1 from nuetral, but it does nothing, cant find a reverse lever, other is this trunk contraption, just discovered it, i have center bars from rear rack attached to trunk lid they had it wired shut, this must of had some type of hinges/ latches to keep it shut, looked at schematics and all i see are gaskets, that i dont have, how does it lock? im gonna use bungies for now, any help would b great thanks

i have an 87 200sx an the reverse is on the left hand brake you push down the red button an squeze the lever an then go down 1 from neutral not sure if yours is the same but i figured it might be similar

that might b it, that brake cable is froze, only i dont have the button, i was told reverse down, then slow,1st,2nd,3rd in up position, right handbrake works great stops on a dime, left and pedal do nothing, ill try check that out tomorrow, i just have the parking break on left lever that doesnt work. thank you

To get into reverse in the meantime just adjust the reverse lockout cable down at the tranny so that the lever on the engine engages. Just be careful and not go down from neutral to reverse while rolling forward...which will happen when the lockout has been engaged.
It's just a temporary fix until you get your rear hand brake cable situation figured out.

thanks for the tip, i will try that, i found the button on the lever, it goes down but it still wont shift down into reverse, hope to get that drum open tomorrow to see whats going on
