brother-in-law selling a recently built 250 in a 1997 trailboss,blue book says $1350,it needs front shocks,tie rods,has new chain and sprockets,brake pads,nice alum.rims/descent holeshots............he'll sell it to me for $1000,sound like a deal? i figured you guys would know the real deal.......thanx

Given the age, and what work it needs I wouldn't pay over 500 maybe 650-700 max if I wanted to be generous to my BIL.

 

what it needs for parts and the year, brings down the price. imo

i got my 2001 scrambler 500 2x4 for $1600. nothin wrong with it really. plus i got the front rack for free.
