Im looking at buying a 2003 Yamaha Grizzly with 5,000 miles on it. The plastic is good, new tires, new 3000lb winch. The ony thing it needs is a throttle and choke trigger.

I'm don't know much about quads, i've gotten the guy down to $2,100. Is this a good price?

I would see how much the parts are going to cost you first.

 

What size Grizzly? They go from 150cc up to 700cc.

 

Its an automatic 660cc. The throttle and choke trigger are gonna cost around $40.

 

It sounds like it may have been in a crash if the throttle and choke lever are broken. May also explain the like new plastic. Just a hunch. If there is no serious damage it might be a good buy. I don't know what kind of mileage people are getting out of the 660 Grizzly.

 

Very good thinking. I would check it out underneath too. Look for bends and cracks on frame, a arms... etc

 

Ride it for sure , check for shaking wobble etc and ride it for atleast 30 minutes and if he objects run away from the deal . Also if it is haking at speed I would walk away and never look back
