Scoop on 2011 models
#1
All,
I talked to the owner of my dealership yesterday about new models for 2011. He chuckeled and then said that they go up to someplace in June to see new year models and then place orders on them. I asked if he thought there be any different/new models in between the 550XP and 850XP's and he said NO! He believes they won't make any new models between their mid-class model and Big Bore anymore. I found out too from the service department that the newer 2010 models still being produced "should" have the warrenty issues done with.
Opinions and thoughts?
Regards,

you will know for sure when they all come out and see lol. maybe it's top secert and he can't devulge any info. either way, i would guess they wouldn't be any changes at least for another year unless they decide to drop a model or 2 ??

Yea true, and what was it that someone posted that several months before public annoucements from Polaris there is some California emissions report for new test models that reveal what they will be?
Anyone remember that and where can we find those reports?
Thanks,

How much longer can the two stroke last? I am guessing it will dissapppear in a year or two as will the old style Sportsman 500. Having a 500 seems to rob sales from the premier 550XP.

personally i am suprised they don't dump the 800 ho and stick w/ the 850. must because of price. who knows what makes the big comp. do wehat they do but i'm sure they do alot of R&D beofre they do.

if they get rid of the good old sportsman 500. there making a big mistake. not every one wants to spend another 2k on 50 more cc's its kinda a rip off what they want... plus in this day and age not everone has the money to spend another 2k more..... dont mess with something good if you ask me..

R,
Question is: Are you going to sell your 800 now, OR keep it for another year or two and get what's offered? You can wait and wait and wait for the next big thing, or just get a new bike and enjoy it....What are you going to do?

FR,
Not sure what I am doing with selling and buying but just doing more research here as needed. I told my dealer that I won't buy a recalled XP model without fixes before it rolls off the floor or out of the service department. When I said that he transferred me to service where I know they guy who has runs the department and he basically said without knowing what is on the floor I could be buying a recalled model or not depending on the mfg. date of the 2010's.
So I am just really interested in what the 2011 models would be. Would it more like a 08 year where they improved all the previous year models issues and offered just new colors Vs. significant features or bike changes?
