Default Looking at a 2007 Grizzly 450....thoughts?

Looking to buy a used Grizz 450. Most of my riding is in the rugged mountains of E. Washington and N. idaho. Thanks

Depending on what you are looking for in a bike the 450 is a GREAT midsize bike that is a perfect trail machine. With a much lower cost of ownership than a "Big Bore" on a proven chassies, engine, design that will last for years to come!

It is a great bike. I have a kodiak (witch is the same quad they just changed the name) with 9000 hrs on it and I only had to replace the battery and the rear hub. The hub was $22 and the battery was like $50. 9000 hrs!! thats alot.

I agree with all points mentioned by DODGE57HEMI

Once you get some better than crappy stock tires, that machine will go places for sure!! Even when I had my stock tires, it was good in all terrain except MUD. Now with my Not-so-DURO Power Grips - that machine is great in all terrain.

Also if you are going to be riding the rough stuff, get yourself some full skid plates. Richocet makes nice 3/16" Thick Plates! Most other manufacturers only make 1/8" plates, trust me that extra 1/16" makes a difference.

What is the price / Mileage / Condition etc?

Grizzly 450 is a great machine. Better yet is the 550 if you can get one. It is available with power steering and fuel injection. Just a thought. 450 is plenty powerful and in low range will get you through or over just about anything.

True 550 is a nice machine but it is $1000-$1500 more and it is same size as the 700 and is a larger quad as opposed to the Mid-sized (Perfect size in my mind) of the Grizzly/Kodiak 450.

I for one was hoping when Yamaha revealed the 550 that it would have been a smaller chassis like the Grizzly 450, but oh well....

No 550 in my future until my 450 dies

Love my 07 Grizzly 450!

ALOT more agile in the trails than the bigger units.

Not sure if it's just a 450 thing or not but I know the one I had would turn on a dime. I miss that I admit. Easy to go between the trees
