I've been wanting to see if the new style plastics for the 400ex's will fit on my 2001? I really hate the headlight look, and was wondering if i can drop a new set of plastics on it? Or find a 'hood' for my 01, and put some new lights up front on the bottom, kinda like the new body style.

Anyone know how fast a late 90's Yamaha 250 Blaster goes BTW? Idiot kid wants to race. Says he bored his out.... I've got an 01 Honda 400ex with an FMF Powercore 4. Gonna drop a new 15-16 tooth front sprocket, lower the back by 2 and a new chain. Also getting an FMF header.

Everyone both local and on the internet are updating the looks of their older 400EXs it seems.lol.
Putting the new style plastics on a 99-04 is as easy as using the two front under brackets from an 05-09 400EX. All the other brackets from the old bodywork line up.

If you are looking at just updating the nose, I've put several 450R scooped hoods on the OLD style plastics. We take a sawzall and cut out the headlights and then drill 4 holes to mount the scoop. Looks sleek, looks good, and no one knows alot of the old fender is still under there. Shoot me your email in a PM and I can email you a couple pics of the one I did to my own 400EX.
