Default Arctic Cat Rebel 150 Help

Need to do the first oil change on my youngest sons new Rebel 150. The book calls out to use the AC synthetic but doesn't give the weight of the oil. Does anybody know the weight? Can I use Mobile synthetic motorcycle/ATV oil? What does this do to the 6 month warranty?

My AC dealer went out of business so I have no where local to buy maint. items.

You wouldn't want to go to the dealer anyway. They raped me for $125 for an oil/filter change for my TRV. Not sure about the oil weight, but I would think using that Mobile would be just fine... probably better.

I am nto 100% sure of the weight but if you look onthe internet you will find an oil change kit for your ATV. I think the oil weight is 0W-40 synthetic if its the AC brand.

I do not see why the Mobile synthetic motercycle/ATV oil would not work as long as it is "wet clutch safe". As far as I know you can not void your warranty by using "non AC" brand oil as long as it meets or exceeds the requirements you are given in the manual.

I think the only time I paid more than $30 for an oil change, including the filter, in my ATV's inthe past was when I ran synthetic. You may also be able to cross reference your filter at the auto parts store for additional savings.

15w-40,10w-40, and 5w-40 will do fine with your kids atv.

Well, I am guessing that it has something to do with the synthetic oil being "thinner" and "slicker" than dino oil. The small engine will probably be ran at a higher rpm than a larger machine and the synthetic may have protected certain engine parts better in their factory testing.

Other wise I do not think it matters. Water infiltration should not be an issue for either type of oil as oil & Water will not stay mixed. Howerver, if you do get some water in the oil the synthetic stuff may protect the engine parts better than the Dino oil.

Hi Guys,
I drove 1 1/2 hrs to Bass Pro thinking that because they are an Arctic Cat dealer that I would be able to purchase all the necessary items & oils to do the first service on the machine. I'm here to report that my expectations were much higher The ATV section had a few ATV covers, a few rack bags, tie downs and some hitch accessories.....very disappointed to say the least.

I was able to hunt down an ATV service tech and he had no clue on the various AC oils, if my machine had an oil filter, and frankly just wanted to leave.... they didn't even have any reference data to see what AC oil my machine used. They told me to look at the floor model and see if I can figure it out

Needless to say I miss my local dealer that went out

Thanks for all your help & input. Much more helpful than what Bass Pro could offer.....
