Default lt80 suspension

I just purchased a kfx 80 for my 6 year old son (50 lbs) who has been riding his lt 50 since he was 3, an old one with no suspension. This 80 might as well not have any shocks on the front they are so stiff. I would also like to widen the stance. This will be used in the sand only. There seems to be a few options. 1. Wheel spacers or extention lugs front and rear. 2. The JL extentions in the front spacers in the rear. 3. 300ex dual a-arm conversion with spacers in the rear. Then there 2 options I have found for shocks 1. Works 2. Shocks from some other quad that midwest mini is selling which are much cheaper.

We aren't racing, so i am not looking to go long travel or spend any more $$ than necessary

Welcome to the forums.
Either use spacers/screw on extensions, a-arms (atvracing1.com), or the JLucky set-up.
It seems that once bought, the 300ex conversions are soon sold to another unsuspecting LT owner.
Shocks: Works are the best option. Stay away from the midwest shocks. Some have installed Polaris shocks. They thought it was an improvement over stock.

Once widened, the stock shocks may work better.

In order to widen my sons for the dunes I went to a wider set of offset rims/paddles in the back. Up front I purchased a set of 4" (2" each side) wheel spacers off of ebay.

Ive got 2.5" spacers for a total extra width of 5" per axle on my sons LT80. They were the cheapy ones off eBay. They installed easy and work great. He rides it HARD and Ive not had any problems.

The extra width works and looks great.....makes the whole machine look bigger.
