I'll try to offer a helpful response....

Is this the original stock battery? If so, I would recommend putting it on an overnight trickle charge and then take it somewhere to have it load tested. Most local auto part stores offer this service. There is still a chance you have a problem with your charging system however I would start by ruling out a bad battery first.

OK, the proper way to check the battery. Make sure the battery is fully charged. it should read approximately 12.5 volts. Start the engine and check the voltage while it is running... It should be around 13.5-14.5 volts if the charging system is working properly. If the running voltage is the same as it was without the engine running,(12.5 or lower) the charging system isn't working.... If it is charging properly, unhook a battery cable & let it sit for a day or two... then hook it up & try to start it.... if it starts, you have a drain on the battery... if it doesn't start, you have a bad cell in the battery.. replace it.

Ok thanks for the info. I have a dry cell battery and it’s about 6-months old. I will check the voltage as you recommended, but I did start the quad with jumper cables from my other DS-650 and it started no problem but as soon as I pulled off the positive jumper cable it ran for a few seconds at an idle and than died, could it be the stator?
