hey guys im trying to buy my first 4 wheeler i have owned dirt bikes before but never a quad the guy said it only needs a cdi and starter which i can get from a friend who has a 4ooex for parts i want to kno if its a good buy it looks to be in pretty good shape my concern is if anyone thinks anything else is wrong with it??? its a 1999 400ex and im pays 1500 for it i jus need a lil help to see what im in for

 

honstly i owned a 400ex befor there great quads but with out tht cdi box u cant hear it run or ride it and 1500 is a little high for somethin u cant hear run try going to craigslist.com youll find great quads running condition and everythang for that and may save a little money just go there click on ur state and click on ur part of the state then search on the rigth side (if u havent been there befor u can find everythang on there)

1500 for a 99 that wont run? No way. Tell him to fix it first. Otherwise, you could bring over the spare cdi to plug in and push start it. If it runs negotiate from there. I am sure you could buy one good to go for 2k.

 

well i found it on craigslist anything else people are asking like 3000 an i dont have that much to spend right now but i have been thinking about that to the cdi an not being able to run it first i dont think im going to get it i will wait an find something a little better thank all of u for your replys and help
