its pretty simple. i just took mine apart the other day. first take the clip on the brake hub side off, then take the threaded lock nut off. (thats a little hard if you don't have the right tool but i just used a flat head and a hammer for that). next the brake hub should slide off, if not tap it with a rubber mallot so you don't scar the brake hub. next there is a lock washer that requires special plyers but i was able to get it off with out them. next take the brake caliper braket off, next take your brake side wheel hub off and your axle should slide right out to the right. now u have access to your bearings. mine came right out cuz the were very worn. good luck and i hope this helps.

2004 and up had bearings... mine is a 2000 and has bushings, but when I set the pivot bolt up to specs I have no play. Do you have a manual for setting the bolt? If not I will look up the steps and post it here for you.

Words of advice...
Anytime you take apart or replace anything related to the Swing Arm make sure you have the correct tool to tighten and make certain you toque according to the manual. I didn't in the past. It cost me 2 Front Bolts and many bearings in the rear...
Everything needs to be seated correctly before applying the final toque.
