Default no gas no go

My second boys quad will not start, it is a GIO.

I checked everything over, it all seems good, turns over good and is getting a nice spark - i primed it a little in the spark plug and it started and shut off - after laying up all winter and on empty i am thinking it is dirt or something in the line or something preventing it from getting the gas

Any suggestions before i completely remove the carb and take it apart?

Any advise is appreciated
Thanks in advance

so updates,

I was looking at the quad today, I took off the carb system, the goose neck thing (sorry for my use of words, dont know the name of the parts) that goes from the carb down into the motor, the rubber has a puncture in the side of it, so I fixed that, also on the side of that goose neck thing a small rubber line (just like the gasline) went from there over and into the side of the carbarator next to the swivel arm that the gas throtle cable is hooked to, that rubber line had a small hole in it, so now that is fixed

I am going to put it back together now, but wanted to ask a question (now like I mentioned in previous post, this is all very very new to me, so I hope my questions dont sound too stupid) but here it is: with this carb in my hand and the wires are still hooked to it and the gas throtle, if I turn the bike over to start it, should the float inside that i can see move up and down or at least do something??

any info or where to find information on how this carborator works would be great

Thanks in advance
