We pretty much can't ride in any water besides a puddle after it rains, and that better be on a legal trail. Mud tires are almost worthless to have up here, except for using in the snow. Enviro-nuts.........
A swift moving river works very well also, but a big no no.

I'm sure the local fisherman love that....Clouds of debris and silt in the water. I use a hose. Just another reason to shut down ATV use in that area. Why draw more attention and get written up.

I fish, and trout don't like mud in their gills. There's no reason for it. Clean the machine when you get home. My 2 cents, but do as you will.

Riparian zones.....They don't make lake specific laws. You just can't do it in many states. Potentially destroys vegetation and/or nesting/breeding critters. On top of the silt and possible distribution of non-native species you could be carrying around under your bike.
