02 predator 90 no spark
#1
Daughter was riding and stopped to talk to me, went to leave got 10 feet and died, lost spark. I have 2 so i stated eliminating the obvious by switching componets, cdi, regulator, key switch still no spark. I don't have a battery for it, so i use the kick start. The only thing i saw on the parts microfiche that i missed was the fuse by the battery, but didn't know if that would make a difference seeing that i use the kickstart. This is really starting to get to me, thing ran great up to that point. Also pulled flywheel and cleaned the pick-up and stator. How would i know if the stator went bad ? Is that a sign of a bad stator by dying all of a sudden ?
thanks for any help

that is common if she had been getting any water in it from riding, check the resistance of the trigger to ground on 20k scale should be less than 2
In the event you have high continuity on the exciter see about replacing the stator with on from a her-shee motor, i think adly is the one

I'm guessing it's the stator.
I had stators crap out on two different machines for absolutely no apparent reason. No water, no mud, no nothing. Neither machine had many hours on them. I chased my tale for a long while since both of them would idle and run up until approx 1/4 throttle. Luckily I had two of the same model and since the stator was the only thing I had not changed I finally figured I might as well try it. It was indeed the stator. I think I paid $78 shipped for the one on my Polaris clone last month.
