Looking for help. I just bought this ATV (non running). Was told it had been sitting up for 9 months. Appearance wise it is in great shape; but I don't know about the mechanicals as I haven't been able to keep it running. Started up and ran for a few seconds; then died. Gas is pouring out bottom of carb so I'm guessing the float is stuck and needs a carb cleaning. My question is: What is the best way to remove the carb? Should I remove the gas tank or can this be done by removing the air box. Looks like it might be hard to get the choke cable out by going thru the air box route. I am in dire need of someone's experience. Thanks

I am not familiar with Your machine but maby try doing a search function and see whut needs to be done to get it apart.
Repair manuals are available,I would try and post in the classifieds section and maby someone will have a set of books for a real reasonable price.

See if you can't just loosen the 2 clamps holding the carb on and turn it sideways (removing the side body panels from the machine) and take the 2 or 4 screws out that hold the bowl on the carb and unstick and clean the carb, take the pilot jet and main jet out from there. Should not have to remove it completely out of the machine. Just my 2 cents.

you can remove the airbox, cut the tie-wraps holding the choke and throttle cables, remove the side covers, take the carb back where the airbox was and turn it upsidedown and clean it, I would get a new needle and seat and replace it while its apart, check to make sure the engine oil isnt overfull cause the gas probably went in ther tooAfter you get it fixed turn the gas off when not in use and new needle and seat will lasta long time

First of all, thanks for the replies. After injecting Sea Foam in the carb on two different days and letting it sit overnight, the ATV started, ran. and after a minute or so, the leak stopped. Today I plan on changing the oil and probably new coolant as the atv had been sitting for some time. Thanks again for the help and thanks to Sea Foam.

You cant beat good old sea foam. If more people would use it about every third tank of fuel. You wouldn't see near as many posts about carb problems. I have used it for about 15 years now and have never had a fuel issue in anything I have ran it in.
