Kawasaki Lakota- More chain issues
#1
Ok, so I figured out that, not only do you need to remove the nuts from the bolts when tightening the chain, but you also need to remove the bolts to get the carraige to loosen. Now the problem is that when I rotate the carriage a few new problems arise. The arm holding the brake caliper will not allow me to tighten the chain, and when I take the bolt out of the arm the caliper spins and the chain tightens, but now the caliper bolts are no where near in line so I am not able to reattach the caliper, AND, the caliper is in a position directlyover and close to the bolt that tightens the carriage preventing me from getting at it. What to do now? Arrowsmith

The teeth on the sprockets should look the same on both sides. As the sprocket wears you will begin to see the side that the chain pulls against start to get a dip worn into it. If you see this, the sprocket definetly needs replaced. Actually, to get the most life from your chain and sprockets, you should always replace them as a complete set anyway.
