Default Scrambler top end rebuild issue

New guy here with a question on rebuilding top end on "G"sons mid 90s 400 scrambler.
Issue I have is the replacement cylinder he sent me has an angled carb. adapter mounting surface and the original had a straight mounting surface.
Now the Carb. will not mount in a horizontal plane when engine is in chassis.
Has any one else run into this issue?
Is there an alternate carb. adapter that will correct my problem?
If so, can you give me a part # and/or tell me where where I get one? local dealer is of no assistance.

Thanks in advance!

Ask over at the Gen 3 forums. It seems to have the most info and help with the 400 engines. Gen3USA.com - By the rider, for the rider.

There are some good heads here. But try the other site too. Most of the guys there are here too.

I have a couple 400 cylinders one off of a 96 and on off of a 97 and both have flat reed boxes. You may have a older 350L cylinder.

Wow, a little defensive aren't we. I am not trying to run anyone off. I visit quite a few atv and car forums. This is a great site with lots of info, but over at the forum I mentioned there is a section just for the 400's, and it sees a lot of action. I don't have but a few posts over there also since I just picked up my Sport 400. I have been on car forums for a long time, and I know how to use the search button. From all the searching I have done, the other site has a lot more 400 info, plain and simple. Sorry for trying to get him some help instead of being a fanboy on one forum.

I guess you can only be a member at one forum at a time. I hope I don't get my membership revoked now that they know I visit other forums too.
