Wink Opinions wanted. . .

I have a '07 Polaris Sportsman 700 EFI 100% stock.

Next season I will be changing out tires and doing a clutch upgrade to compinsate.

What I want for tires is a slightly aggressive all terrain. 75% of my riding is hardpack. 20% is loose and hard rock the remaining 5% mud. Maxis Bighorns, Dirt Commanders and Sadona Buzz saws are my top choices. based on what I have read and like the looks of. Going to mount on plain aluminum strictly for weight savings.

I was going to stay same diameters. but have been reading of running same sized tires at all four corners. I like this look and the idea of it. So now I am thinking of going to 26x9" all around.

What are your thoughts and what can I expect
.

Thanks guys,
CW

The rear of the quad is likely to break free under acceleration and will probably slide more in the corners as there will be less of a tread patch on the ground in the rear. Other than that I don't see any reason it will change things that much. Anybody else????

I like the Bighorns. I wouldn't go with a narrow tire on the rears unless I did mostly mud. A narrow tire will dig deeper in mud or snow to find hardpak, it will not be as good on the trails, and will be much worse rockcrawling. It sounds to me with your type of riding a larger patch will give you better results both in cornering and climbing.

I recently bought new tires based pretty much the same paramters as you stated. I went with Grim Reapers and am really pleased with the performance. Easy on the trails when riding easy like & lots of bite when required.
