Ds 650 gas leak
#1
The bowl drain tube leaks while it sets over night. I bought a new drain screw for the bowl and it still does it. I took the carb off and the floats seem to be in spec. Is there an oring or sealant needed for the bowl drain screw?
Thanks,
Mark

if your sure its the screw, go to the auto store , walmart, ect. and get some sealsall. its in a yellow and red tube. it works very well to seal gas and oil. and the screw can be removed easy if needed. been a while since i have looked at a stock carb. the drain scxrews dont have o-rings , they seat like bleaders on your brake calipers. the big bolt/plug for changing main jets should have a o-ring.

Thanks I have them on order. I have another problem. I adjusted the valves. The ex was pretty good. The intakes were tight. I also cleaned the carb. It runs perfect when it is cold. I got the motor good and warm the other day and now it popped through the carb and stalled at low rpm's. It started right back up. Any ideas?

popping thru the carbs is usually caused by tight intake valves, however a worn out cam lob will also cause this problem. & lean pilot circuit will also cause this, did you take off & clean out the pilot jet to where you could see thru it ?
this is the only thing i know to do to fix popping thru the carb

yes I did clean the pilot. Maybe I need to back out the a/f screw a bit. how many turns out should it be? It don't really say in the service book. The cam looks pretty good as far as I can tell.
