Default 01 yamaha blaster jetting???

I bought a used 01 yamaha blaster and was getting ready to put in a carburator kit when I thought maybe the jetting needs to be different. It has an fmf gold series fatty exhaust, procircuit 304 silencer, and a k & N air filter. I am at 3000 ft. My carb kit has a 230 main jet and 32.5 pilot jet. Will both need changed or anything else? What will happen if I run it with these jets? The idle keeps idling up after I start it and the float has been sticking so thats why I got the carb kit. Only owned this quad for about a week and havent taken it out yet but I want to make sure I do it right. Any help is appreciated!!!! Thanks!

I got the carb kit in this evening just used the 230 jet it came with. However, I still have an idling problem. Idles ok but when you give it throttle a little, it revs up and constantly keeps increasing rpms and I had to just shut it off, tried a few times and still does it. It did that before the carb kit as well. What could it be?? Again any help is appreciated. Thanks!

you most likely have an air leak, did you try & idle it down some ?

The only way an engine can RPM is with air. You have an air leak somewhere. Could be a carb boot, could be case seals, could be lots of places. It will be up to you to find out where.

Ive noticed when the choke is on all the way it doesn't idle up, half way runs ok but eventually starts to rev up. with choke off completely it idles low and after playing with the throttle a bit it starts doing it. Ive sprayed carb cleaner around gaskets and carburetor while it is running and it doesn't do it till I mess with the throttle. I am gonna take it out for its first ride this weekend and see what happens, think I am going to get a new gasket set though and get those replaced just to cover that part, and maybe eliminate the tors on the carb with new throttle cable. How do you know when the reeds need replaced?
