Default why a sportsman 550 EPS over AC 550S & kingquad 550AXi PS?

Hi all, like the title states, I would like to know why I should pick the Polaris over the suzuki and arctic cat. I just returned from WY where I managed to ride for days on my father in law's sportsman 500, and it was great, but since I had no comparison it was time to join a board to hear the verdict from the true off-roaders.

Thanks!!

Sam

Here in Canada they are cheaper to buy for one reason. Another reason if you get along good with your father in law, don't give him a reason to not like you by purchasing one of the "others", LOL.

They are like cars and women lots of different makes and models and not all people prefer the same or we would all be on black Model T's courtesy of Mr Ford. Unless you have a chance to ride the others it is hard to compare and do you really think you will get enough of an honest comparision on an open forum to make an informed decision?

Wish you luck.

thanks, not really, but I wanted to ask and see what complaints people may have or what they find especially better. so far though, IMO the sportsman is exactly what i should get, everything seems perfect about it to me, gas mileage, power steering, the fact i can ad a passenger if i wanted to, the bigger tires, the intelligent 4WD, etc. the only thing I didnt like about my father in laws sportsman was the blasted shifter, I had to spread eagle or my knee would get crushed when shifting with a passenger on board

If your going to be riding a passenger some of the time I'd look at the 2-up models.

to me its not worth the extra loot, even more so after riding the original sportsman with 2 riders, no complaints as a driver or a passenger on it. now if I can find the X2 or touring seat aftermarket later, then score for me ;D

Don't know much about the ACs. The Polaris tends to have the most comfortable ride and most on board storage potential. Lock-N-Ride is great. The Suzuki is usually the least expensive to buy. If you can, test ride both a little bit and see how you like or dislike them.

If you do a lot of two-up riding........try an X2. The longer wheelbase is much more stable AND is built for two riders. Some areas for ATV riding do not allow for two passengers on a one-up machine. When I get a new Polaris this year or next.......it will be a two-up machine even though I ride single all the time.....love the stability..........IMO.........NoJoke

I've pretty much mad eup my mind now, did a lot of research over the weekend, now that I've settle on a popo, i'm fighting the urge to go for displacement over economy, lol. But as it stands I'll be picking up the 2011 550 XP EPS.

Just a quick note as to what a great forum this is. Not one Polaris rider said the other brands were junk. Nobody mentioned any percieved weaknesses they might have. I could imagine this question asked in another forum of a different brand. All the replies would have been to slam PoPo and Our brand is better. Great job guys. TonyT

I noticed that as well, which is why I closed the other tabs and only have these boards and the polarisatvforums open now, i think between these two sites I should gather a wealth of unbiased knowledge, and makes some new friends to ride with of course :P
