Default What's a good price on a 450 Grizz/ 450 grizz EPS

I'm headed to a couple of Yamaha dealers in the next few days and I want to see what kind of price I can get on a 450 Grizzly or a 450 EPS Grizzly. At what price point would you consider both of these good deals?

I've had one dealer quote me $5895 for the 450 in Blue and $6695 for the EPS in Camo. I would prefer the EPS in Blue but the dealer had no stock. He didn't give me a price for that but I'm guessing around $6295 considering the crazy $400 markup most dealers charge for Camo.

Should I expect better deals than those?

Those prices sound great to me even kind of low for 2011 with EPS. Jump on it if its true!

This is your normal MSRP on a 2011 450 with EPS! The prices you should be paying should be much closer to this. To me something seems fishy!

Went back and looked at the price quote and they had asterisks beside them followed by this:

Price does not include government fees, taxes, dealer freight/preparation, dealer document preparation charges or any finance charges (if applicable). Final actual sales price will vary depending on options or accessories selected.
Can't imagine that would account for the difference in price. I'll have to call them and find out.

I could see a few hundreds off MSRP not thousands! Let us know what you find.

Called the dealer last night and talked to him about pricing . He said that the price is based on a couple of things. First off they are a volume dealer and sell hundreds of quads so their prices are substantially lower than MSPR. Secondly there is additional savings based on Yamahas sales event (Gigantic sales event or something like that). So indeed the Price's after rebates and discounts are: 450 is $5895. 450 with EPS is $6395 (none in stock right now), and 450 EPS Camo is $6695. 550FI is $6595, 550FI EPS $7195, 700FI is $7400, 700FI EPS $7895 & $8095. They also have a 700 special addition for $8295. So if the MSRP of the 450 is $6899 then apparently my dealer is discounting $500 along with Yamaha giving $500. Not too bad I guess.

The way I understood it Yamaha's sales event gave $500 cash back for the 450 and $700 cash back for the 550. Some higher end motorcycles got up to $1200 back.

My discounts are zero. The dealers love their stock so much they won't sell below MSRP. And they tack on any fee they can dream up. Needless to say, they have a full selection.

Everthing sells below MSRP

To pay more for the less powerful and smaller (Physically) 450 with power steering over the 550 without power steering is not the way I would go. ATVs are just not that hard to steer.

Yep 500 off before any rebates sounds about right. Much more inline with norm. Good luck, Let us know what you decide.

P.S. If you can afford a quad with PS I would highly recommend it! Remember PS is not just for ease of steering it helps with anti kickback as well. Test ride and decide for yourself!
