How do you change the oil filter/screen on a 04 recon 250es?

 

You just change the oil, no filter

 

There is a strainer that you can clean but you have to tear into the crankcase to get at it. There is also a centrifugal oil filter in the crankcase but it's not serviceable until you tear into the crankcase, just like the strainer.

Just keep the oil changed regularly, more often in dusty conditions and keep the air cleaner clean and secure and you should have no problems.
