Default Rectifier/regulator question 02 500 HO

My buds machine...02 500 HO. He's having charging issues...after some research I came up with it possibly being the rectifier. Battery doesn't charge and when reving the motor the lights don't get brighter.

I did some inspecting and 2 of the wires coming off his rectifier were unplugged...they had male ends on them...I want to say they were a red and a brown wire. I looked for places they would plug in and found a 2 prong female plug coming off the low beam wiring with the same colored wires. Do those two wires plug in that plug??

YEP, the red and brown wires from the regulator plug into the the connector that runs along side the low beam wiring. It usually tucks under the lip of the front cab which has a tendency to get unplugged. OPT

Thanks OPT!! I guessed that's where they plugged in but didn't want to plug them in and short something out. I'll head out and plug them in, electric grease and zip tie them up and out of the way from getting unplugged again.

That did it...battery now takes a charge...everything's working as it should.

Thanks again!!
